New signing Neil Randolph

The Basketball Ireland Men’s Super League returns this weekend, when Templeogue make the short trip across the Liffey to take on DCU Saints.

TBC must plan for the new season without Sean Flood and Conor Grace, but have recruited wisely by signing forward Neil Randolph from Team Northumbria, while former point guard Alan O’Neill returns from South Africa.

Randolph, a 6′ 5″ Elmira College graduate returns to Ireland after 5 years studying and playing abroad.

Randolph enjoyed a very successful four-year playing career at Elmira College as he became the 16th player in the program’s 45-year history to score 1,000 points. He averaged 11.8 points and 3.3 rebounds per game over his four-year career but most of Randolph’s production took place over the last two seasons.

In his final two seasons with the Soaring Eagles, Randolph proved to be the team’s steadiest producer as he led Elmira in scoring in back-to-back seasons, averaging 17.1 points per game. In that two year span, Randolph scored 821 of his career’s 1,144 points.

TBC’s Stephen James and Lorcan Murphy had a busy Summer with the Ireland Senior Men’s squad at the FIBA European Championship for Small Countries in Moldova, where Ireland finished fourth in their first competitive tournament for seven years. Both players did exceptionally well and can bring their international experience into a new Super League season with TBC.
